"After Everything" is the fifth installment in the "After" film series based on Anna Todd's book series. The film continues the story of Tessa Young (Josephine Langford) and Harding Scott (Hero Fiennes Tiffin) after the events of the previous film "After Ever Happy".
Harding is still struggling to move on, a year after breaking up with Tessa Harding after learning that Tessa had written a book about their relationship without her permission. His publisher pressures him to write a follow-up book, but he suffers from writer's block and constant memories of Tessa.
Harding decides to move to Lisbon, Portugal to make amends with an old girlfriend named Natalie (Mimi Keane). It is revealed that Harding had previously been taped seducing Natalie as part of a bet, causing a scandal that led to his move to Lisbon. In Lisbon, Hardin tries to make peace with Natalie and his past mistakes.
Meanwhile, Tessa prepares for her friend Landon's wedding. Harding is asked to be the best man, which leads to an emotional reunion between him and Tessa at the wedding. After apologizing to each other, Harding proposes to Tessa, and the film ends with them reconciling and Tessa revealing that she is pregnant.
